Ed Sheeran reflects on album sales and GRAMMY nominations: 'What a good start to the day'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has enjoyed an incredibly successful week as it was revealed that his latest album 'x' shifted 3 million copies worldwide and he has now received

He received the nod for Best Pop Vocal Album and is also up for the Best Song Written for Visual Media for his song 'I See Fire', which he wrote for 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug'.

Writing on his official Twitter page earlier this afternoon (December 5), the hitmaker explained that he is overwhelmed by these aforementioned achievements and is very proud: "GRAMMY nomination and my album 'x' has sold 3 million worldwide as of this morning."

"Good start to the day, thanks for all the support and love. 'I See Fire got a GRAMMY nomination, which is my favourite thing ever. Thanks to the powers that be for that."
