Ellie Goulding surprised viewers of the Xtra Factor this weekend by performing with McBusted.

The group were the house band on the X Factor spin-off as the programme celebrated its final.

However, Goulding replaced boyfriend Dougie Poynter on bass for their performance of single 'Air Guitar'.

Host Sarah-Jane Crawford joked after the slot: "Someone’s had a bit of a makeover!"

The X Factor final meanwhile was won by singer Ben Haenow, who gained after 50% of the votes.

He has released the single 'Something I Need' and it is currently enjoying a big impact on iTunes.
