Little Mix: 'We represent girls in a positive way without being overly sexual'

Little Mix believe they are one of the few female groups who don't rely on being too "sexual".

The band said in a new interview with Hunger that they want to give a positive message to young girls.

Part of this is to tell them that you don't have to be "overly" in tune with your sexuality.

Jade Thirlwall said: "When we first got together I think we realised that there wasn’t anyone that was representing girls in a positive way without being overly sexual.

"I think we’ve filled that gap now. At first we were worried about getting girls on our side, but thankfully they came flooding in. I think young girls needed an ally in music."

Leigh-Anne Pinnock added: "We’re going through the same things as our fans, and music can really help you when you’re struggling."

Little Mix meanwhile are due to release their third album later this year.
