One Direction could have an unlikely collaborator in the future - Barcelona footballer Neymar.

The Brazilian star recently met up with the band's singer Niall Horan when he took a trip to Spain.

It seems the Irishman - along with the group's tunes - have made an impact on the 22-year-old sportsman, who joined Barcelona in 2013.

He told CNN: "I like their songs. I think they are an excellent band. I have some of their songs in my playlist.”

When asked if he would like to sing with One Direction, the Brazil international replied:

"Of course...without a doubt."

The band meanwhile are due to play three dates in Neymar's home country on May 8, 10 and 11 as part of their Where We Are world stadium tour.
