One Direction disappointed at missing out on No. 1 with 'Steal My Girl' single

One Direction have voiced their disappointment at having failed to reach the top of the charts with their latest single.

'Steal My Girl' missed out on the No. 1 spot after it peaked at No. 3 on the UK singles chart.

Speaking about the sales performance of 'Steal My Girl' Louis Tomlinson stated:

"'Steal My Girl' didn't go to number one and we were gutted to be honest."

One Direction's debut single from 'Four' was held off by Meghan Trainor as 'All About That Bass' topped the chart at the time.

Louis said of the rival single: "That's just the way it is - there's tough competition out there. 'All About That Bass' is just a monster."

Niall Horan added the comment: "I'm all about that bass."

Despite missing out on topping the singles chart, One Direction are on course to debut at No. 1 on the album chart later today with their latest LP 'Four'.
