One Direction songwriter reveals why the boyband won't give up

Songwriter Jamie Scott has revealed that the remaining members of One Direction have discussed their future as a band and agreed that as long as there continues to be musical growth, they will stay together.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, he explained: "With Backstreet Boys and Take That you saw the end coming.”

“With 1D, if the music keeps reinventing they won't break up. We discussed that. As long as the music is not dying and they're crossing over to older fans, there is no reason to break up and they want to go on and keep the ride going."

Scott went onto add that while their musical direction will be different on this upcoming new record, which will be their first as a four-piece band, it definitely isn’t going to be hip-hop as some sources have reported:

"They are definitely not going hip-hop as reported. Since we wrote Story Of My life on the third album none of the rules have changed and this album will be the same.”
