Louis Tomlinson's mother opens up about the singer's first wage

Louis Tomlinson's mother has told One Direction fans how much her son first earned as a singer.

The Brit found fame on the X Factor in 2010 after the group were pieced together from solo contestants.

Since then it has been a meteoric rise to fame for Tomlinson and his bandmates.

However, his mum Johannah Deakin revealed on Twitter on Monday (January 4) that Tomlinson's first wage in showbusiness was £55 - and nearly half of that went back home.

She wrote: "Louis is a super kind person. Not many people know that his first wage on XF was £55 - he sent home £25.

"Not that I asked of course. He has always looked after his family & he always will."

One Direction meanwhile are due to take a break in 2016 after releasing five albums in five years.
