One Direction star Liam Payne has shown off his new girlfriend for the first time.

The singer recently revealed to the press that he is now dating long-time friend Sophia Smith.

He previously went out with dancer Danielle Peazer for a number of months, but it recently ended.

Payne was pictured holding hands with Smith as they made for the after-party following the premiere of One Direction's new film This Is Us on Tuesday (August 20).

They were joined at the shindig by the likes of Simon Cowell, James Corden and McFly.

Zayn Malik's girlfriend Perrie Edwards meanwhile sparked wedding gossip after being seen at the premiere wearing a glitzy ring, but there has been no official confirmation yet if the pop dup are indeed engaged.

One Direction's This Is Us meanwhile is due to hit cinema screens across the country from August 29.
