One Direction's Zayn Malik has spoken out about his recent engagement to Perrie Edwards.

After rumours broke at the premiere of the band's film This Is Us on Tuesday (August 20), it was confirmed yesterday (August 21) that the two singers are indeed engaged.

Malik and the Little Mix star have been dating for a number of months and it seems their relationship is going from strengh to strength.

The 'Kiss You' lad was questioned about the news by Capital FM, who gave the singer flowers during an interview.

He confirmed the "cool" engagement and said that he and Edwards are "really happy".
