Rihanna designs handbag for Fendi charity auction

Bajan beauty Rihanna has teamed up with luxury Italian label Fendi to design a special bag as part of a charity project.

The 'Umbrella' sensation was invited to personalize her own 3Baguette handbag along with actress Sarah Jessica Parker (pictured below), comedienne Rachel Feinstein, model Jourdan Dunn and author Leandra Medine.

Their unique creations will be unveiled at Fendi's new flagship store on New York's Madison Avenue next month (February 13) and will be on display for a month. The bags will all be put up for auction through the site launch3baguetteauction.fendi.com and each star was able to choose her own charity. Rihanna picked her own charitable organisation, The Clara Lionel Foundation, which she founded in 2012.

Pietro Beccari, the brand's chairman and chief executive officer, told Women's Wear Daily that Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker and the other three designers were given 'free reign' where creating the pieces was concerned:

"The Fendi customer is active in different fields and engaged socially. There is not only one kind of woman and they are each excellent in their own field. It's a celebration of femininity. They had free rein, choosing their favourite colours, favouring their own personal tastes. It also shows that nothing is impossible with the incredible artisans at Fendi."
