SONY/ATV AND STELLAR SONGS SIGN DIZTORTION TO WORLDWIDE PUBLISHING DEAL

(London – September 10, 2017) – Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Stellar Songs have signed songwriter, artist and producer Diztortion to a worldwide deal via their joint venture.

The Dutch-born, London-based talent has worked with a number of the biggest UK urban and dance acts including Tinie Tempah, Lethal Bizzle and Sigma as well as establishing his own career as a recording artist.

Diztortion said: “I am super-hyped about joining the Stellar Songs and Sony/ATV family. I’ve been a massive admirer of the incredible roster they have and the way exciting new talent is nurtured and given opportunities with established writers. This is an important next phase of my career and to have the backing of legends like Danny D and Tim Blacksmith alongside the brilliant Sony/ATV team of Alastair Kinross, David Ventura and Guy Moot is really a huge blessing.”

Danny D, co-founder of Stellar Songs, said: “Tim and I are over the moon to welcome Diztortion into the Stellar Songs/Sony/ATV family. We have wanted to work with him from the day we first heard ‘Fester Skank’ and everyone is excited to be a part of his exciting future as artist, songwriter and producer.”

Sony/ATV Senior A&R Manager Alastair Kinross said: “We are all thrilled that Diz, along with his team, have trusted Stellar Songs and Sony/ATV with the next phase of their career. We’re all long-time fans and are really excited about what we can build together going forward.”

Diztortion is a Dutch-born, London-based songwriter, artist and producer who is currently working with the likes of Craig David, Taya, Lotto Boyz, MO and Notes among others.

Initially gaining a reputation as a songwriter, rapper and producer in his home city of Amsterdam, he relocated to London in 2012, setting up his own recording studio and began working with a number of the UK’s biggest and most notable urban and dance acts.

He scored a first UK Top 20 hit in 2013 as the co-writer and producer of Stylo G’s “Soundbwoy” and has since worked with the reggae fusion artist on a series of other releases, including the singles “Badd” and “My Number One”, which features Gyptian.

Diztortion has had a close association with UK grime star Lethal Bizzle, including co-writing the UK Top 20 hits “The Drop” featuring Cherri Voncelle, “Rari WorkOut” featuring JME and Tempa T and “Fester Skank”, on which he also performed and which was used to promote BT Sport’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League. He most recently worked with him on the 2017 EP You’ll Never Make A Million From Grime, which became Bizzle’s highest-charting album release to date.

For the multi-chart-topping Tinie Tempah he co-wrote and produced the track “Peak”, featuring fellow UK rappers Stormzy and Bugzy Malone, while other acts he has worked with include DJ Fresh, Major Lazer and Wiley.

Alongside his work as a songwriter and producer for others, he has also carved out a career as an artist in his own right, which has included singles recorded with artists including Beenie Man, Ms. Dynamite and Sigma.
