The Vamps’ Brad: ‘I went out in my home town and got mobbed, I just want to be a normal guy’

Singer Brad Simpson, of The Vamps fame, has revealed that he is a little concerned about becoming famous because he wants to be able to go out and not be bothered or mobbed by fans.

The 'Can We Dance' heartthrob revealed that when he was out in his hometown recently he was overwhelmed by all the people coming up to him and hopes that it was just a one-off incident, because he would love to be able to just be himself on his home turf and enjoy normality:

"There are some people around me who blow it out of proportion, which is a bit overwhelming, people are a little too full on with it. I went out in my home town but I just had people coming up to me. I just want to chill out with my mates either in their car or around their houses. I just want to come home and be a normal guy."

He also told the newspaper that because they're always on the road or in the studio, he still lives at home as there's never time to be in one place for long enough to justify moving out: "I am still living at home. We are in London but we have the opportunity to get home. We have been living on a tour bus for the past month or so. You can’t beat coming home to your own bed and your mum’s cooking."

Simpson added that he's been lucky to keep close friends around him and nothing has really changed around him on this impressive rise to fame: "My close friends haven’t changed, which is really nice. They are exactly the same with me as they were before this all started."
