The Vamps on Ed Sheeran: 'We still want to work together, but so far the timing has been off'

British pop-rock outfit The Vamps have already collaborated with the likes of Demi Lovato, but there is another singer-songwriter that member James McVey is really keen to get into the studio with.

During an interview with Teen magazine, McVey confessed that he looks up to Sheeran as a kind of mentor although he hopes to work with the 'Lego House' superstar at some point in the future:

"Me and Ed speak frequently. I mean, I texted him last night! We like to keep up with what we're doing and he's been a great mentor for me personally in the last two months."

"We still very much want to work together but it's been difficult because his album just came out, and we're on tour a lot. We want to do it still! We'd love to."

Earlier this month, The Vamps also teased that they have spoken to Austin Mahone about potentially recording something with him: "I don't know, it would be really cool. We might do something. I don't know what we'd do, but we spoke about doing some sort of collaboration."
