Tinie Tempah says high-fiving Prince William at BAFTAs felt "great"

Tinie Tempah has opened up on his brush with royalty at last night's (February 16) BAFTAs.

The UK rapper was tasked with opening the film awards ceremony at London's Royal Opera House alongside collaborator Laura Mvula.

However, it was his interaction with future king Prince William that grabbed the attention - not so much his music.

Tempah was seen high-fiving the British royal in the front row as he went for a walk around the venue.

Speaking to the BBC after the show, the rapper said: "I just saw him there and I was like, 'Why not?'. And it felt great. I've seen my Twitter, it's going crazy at the minute. But it was fun and such a memorable performance."

Tempah added that he has met William in a few occasions in the past and as such he felt "safe" enough to high-five him.
