Tinie Tempah on Prince William high-five: 'It shows how accessible the royal family can be'

'Written In The Stars' rapper Tinie Tempah has revealed that his recent BAFTAs performance was overwhelming because he was singing among superstars he had grown up watching in films since his childhood.

Speaking to KISS FM about the 'magical moment', where he performed 'Heroes' live with songstress Laura Mvula, Tinie explained that it was amazing and high-fiving Prince William just came from the energy of the room:

"Do you know what? It was a very magical moment... again, another amazing moment for the album, 'Demonstration'. I was able to perform one of my favourite tracks from the album with Laura Mvula, who I think is an incredible talent. The honour to be asked to do it, as well, was amazing."

"As soon as they said I should start performing from the middle rows in the audience as opposed to on the stage, I came out and there were all these famous people I've grown up my whole life watching in amazing films."

Referring to the moment where he high-fived Prince William, who was sitting in a prominent spot at the BAFTAs, he added: "I've done things for his charity, for The Prince's Trust, I performed at his Winter White Gala as well not too long ago... I was just feeling the performance, I didn't even think about it! I think it was an amazing moment and it definitely shows how down to earth and accessible the royal family are."
