Adele has topped the list of UK's most popular albums of 2015

Adele's '25' was the best-selling record of the year in the UK.

The singer only released her third album on November 20, but it managed to sell a total of 2.496 million units by the end of 2015.

This figure does not include streaming as the record isn't available on platforms like Spotify.

The album debuted at No.1 in the UK chart and is still there at this very moment.

Second on the rundown is Ed Sheeran's 2014 effort 'x', which enjoyed 971,000 combined sales.

Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour' - also released last year - was the third most popular record with 893,000 units sold.

Elvis Presley's 'If I Can Dream' is No.4, with Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' at No.5.

Other high-selling acts included Taylor Swift, Jess Glynne and James Bay.

Perhaps surprisingly, One Direction's fifth album 'Made in the A.M.' was only the 14th best-selling record of the year.
