Michael Jackson to be played by Joseph Fiennes in new UK TV film

The legendary late Michael Jackson will be played by British actor, Joseph Fiennes, in a new drama specially made for UK TV by the Sky Arts Channel.

The one-off special will dramatise a fictionalised journey by Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando taken after the 9/11 terror attacks in 2001.

Taylor will be played by Stockard Channing and Brando by Brian Cox.

The story is based on a story Vanity Fair printed in 2011 claiming the trio all hitched a ride leaving New York after the terrorist attacks as they were unable to fly. According to Vanity Fair they drove down to Ohio where they managed to catch a plane to California. Vanity Fair claim Taylor's former personal assistant revealed the details of the road trip.

Fiennes recently starred in Hercules and American Horror Story but he became well-known starring opposite Gwenyth Paltrow in 'Shakespeare in Love'.

Channing is famous for playing Betty Rizzo in 'Grease' as well as, more recently, the First Lady in 'The West Wing'.
