Lady Gaga has been confirmed to play this year's Radio 1 Big Weekend in Carlisle on Sunday, May 15. The 'Born This Way' singer is set to play the main stage.

Other acts confirmed to perform at the event include The Foo Fighters, Black Eyed Peas, Nicole Scherzinger and Jessie J.

The two-day music event is due to take place on May 14 and May 15 at Carlisle Airport.

It's been revealed that 40,000 tickets for the event are to be allocated via a ballot. Those wanting to attend will have to apply via the Radio 1 website. Registration opens tomorrow morning.

Last year's Big Weekend featured artists including Rihanna, Florence & The Machine, Cheryl Cole and Justin Bieber.
