David Bowie co-writing New York stage show

David Bowie is co-writing a New York stage show inspired by the 1963 novel The Man Who Fell to Earth.

The singer is working with Irish playwright Enda Walsh on the project Lazarus.

The show is due to open in New York this winter.

Bowie is writing new songs for the show in addition to reworking old tracks.

The Brit starred in a 1976 film version of the The Man Who Fell to Earth.

The show will be directed by Belgian Ivo van Hove, but it is not expected to feature Bowie.
