Sir Elton John reveals he had pneumonia

Sir Elton John has revealed that his recent health scare was a bout of pneumonia.

The singer was forced to cancel a number of shows recently after being hospitalised with
what was described as a respiratory infection.

His partner David Furnish later confirmed that the 'Rocket Man' star was doing "well" and recovering.

Speaking to the BBC, John said however that the infection had eventually transformed into pneumonia and that it "knocked him for six". He said:

"I picked up an infection in Las Vegas and I was walking around with it for a week before it turned into pneumonia. I didn't realise I had it and it just knocked me for six."

As previously reported, David Furnish recently went on record to say that he and Elton John - parents to Zachary - talk about having another child, but nothing is concrete just yet.
