George Michael has unveiled his new song 'White Light'.

The singing star released the track to UK radio station Heart 106.2 today (June 29) as he looks to revive his solo career following serious illness.

Michael came near to death last year after contracting pneumonia in Austria, and he used the ordeal to inspire the lyrics for 'White Light'.

Tweeting about the song's premiere, Michael said that the single is longer than what was played on the radio. He said:

"Morning....hope your happy with it....by the way, the single is way longer than the couple of minutes they played on Heart. Such is life :)"

The singer meanwhile recently released stills from the 'White Light' video, which sees the star with a zebra.
