Jennifer Lopez has expressed her excitement as she prepares to perform at the World Cup.

The football tournament is starting today (June 12) and the singer will line-up next to Pitbull and Claudia Leitte in São Paulo at the opening ceremony to run through their official World Cup song 'We Are One'.

The slot was recently shrouded in doubt after organisers FIFA said that Lopez wouldn't be performing due to "production issues".

This was promptly dismissed by the singer, who tweeted on Wednesday (June 11):

"I love #Brazil! I am so excited to join @pitbull & @claudialette to celebrate #WorldCup2014 #JLoAKA #JLoJune17."

Pitbull also uploaded a photo of himself in Brazil with Lopez.

The musical trio will perform before hosts Brazil take on Croatia.
