Lady Gaga's meat dress named 'Most Controversial'

'Applause' beauty Lady Gaga shocked fans and the media alike back in 2010 by wearing a dress made from raw meat to the MTV Video Music Awards and it has now been voted the most controversial red carpet moment of all time in a new survey.

FemaleFirst.co.uk reports that hairdresser Charles Worthington conducted the research, which showed that her steak-covered outfit is the most shocking to date.

Elizabeth Hurley's Versace safety pin dress was a close second and Geri Halliwell's iconic Union Jack skintight one piece came in fourth.

Bjork's swan dress from the 2001 Oscars rounded out the Top 5.

Meanwhile, Gaga posted an inspirational message to her followers last night via her LittleMonsters.com social networking site, in which she told them: "Your life is an art form, remember yourself with every stroke."

Last week, she urged her fans to support Justin Bieber's Beliebers after he was arrested in Miami on a DUI: "Hey monsters. I know everyone today is talking about Justin‘s arrest and all sorts of words and judgements are happening on the Internet. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and to stand up for themselves, but I think we should be supportive of Beliebers."
