Lady Gaga team suing over cancelled 2012 Indonesia concert

Lady Gaga's management company and tour promoters are suing Lloyd's Of London over a cancelled 2012 show in Indonesia.

The 'Born This Way' star was scheduled to play a gig in the country's capital city of Jakarta in June that year, but the event was pulled after religious protesters slammed the singer for being "vulgar" and "the devil's child", and Gaga's safety could not be guaranteed if she went ahead with the show.

In a claim filed in a California court, Gaga's management company Atom Factory and tour partners Live Nation LG Tours and Mermaid Touring have said that Lloyd's Of London have failed to honour two "terrorism policies" that would have saved them substantial cancellation fees.

The insurers refused to pay as the original claim contained "language and purported conditions that are not contained in the [policies]".

Gaga's management and tour partners have now described this as "despicable conduct with the intent to vex, injure or annoy" in their suit, and are seeking damages of at least $150,000 (£99,000).
