Lady Gaga to fans: 'Any monster being hateful or spreading negativity is not standing truly by me'

Modern pop icon Lady Gaga has taken to her website, LittleMonsters.com, to ask her followers to treat each other and people in general with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Writing on the site in the comments section underneath her NSFW video that she shot with Marina Abramović, the 'Judas' superstar asked her fans to stop being 'hateful' and to refrain from 'spreading negativity':

"Monsters, please encourage one another to be accepting and tolerant on the internet. Any monster that is using hateful language and spreading negativity is not standing truly by me. I mean it. I've said this before and I'll say it again. Set an example. Do not defend me this way, focus on the music, thats where my focus is."

Gaga's new single 'Applause' is due to be released later this month on August 19 and the long-awaited album, 'ARTPOP', will follow later on November 11.
