Leona Lewis has commented on rumoured love interest Liam Payne.

The 'Glassheart' singer has been linked to the One Direction star ever since he broke up with former girlfriend Danielle Peazer recently.

They went out for a drink in the aftermath of Payne's split but both camps have said that they are just friends.

Payne, however, said on Saturday (October 6) that he had a "crush" on the former X Factor winner.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lewis appeared coy on the subject and called him a "lovely guy". She said:

"[Liam] is a really sweet, lovely guy. I'm a fan of One Direction. We have been friends for a year-and-a-half."

Lewis continued: "I know you have to ask [if we're dating]. I've learned from having relationships before that have been speculated about, it's best not to talk about it. I think that's important. Usually the other person doesn't get a say, so it's really one-sided and unfair."
