Prince to tour London in February

Prince has confirmed plans to play a series of shows "in and around London" next month.

The legendary musician will perform in a number of "iconic venues" from February 3 as part of the Hit and Run tour.

Details of the dates are unavailable at the moment, but he is due to hold a press conference in the flat of singer Lianne La Havas.

The shows will come in support of the new album 'PlectrumElectrum', which Prince has recorded with his girl group 3rdEyeGirl.

A press release for the concert series states: "To celebrate the release of 'PLECTRUMELECTRUM', the highly anticipated debut album from 3RDEYEGIRL, his all-female rock trio, Prince is planning to play iconic venues in and around London starting Feb 3rd.

"The first stop is the living room of London's own - Lianne La Havas. This 24-year-old singer-songwriter met Prince last year during LaHavas' tour of America. They jammed together at Prince's Paisley Park Studio in Minneapolis and have kept in touch ever since. When Prince told Lianne he was coming to London to launch his new project, Ms. La Havas jokingly offered her flat as the location for the press conference."

It concludes: "Details about the event are very hush-hush at this time but as we find out more, you will be the 2nd ones to know. For now, know this: Prince is coming!"

Prince's last full studio album meanwhile came in the shape of 2010's '20Ten'.

He last performed in the UK back in 2011 when he graced the Hop Farm Festival.
