Amanda Holden has confirmed speculation regarding Simon Cowell's impending baby birth.

Rumours emerged today (February 14) that stated the music mogul had left the country to jet to America and see his pregnant partner Lauren Silverman, who is said to be in labour.

There has been no official word yet, but his Britain's Got Talent colleague Amanda Holden confirmed the news on Twitter. She said:

"Wishing @simoncowell a safe flight and safe birth. Thinking of him and Lauren over the next few hours. Very excited! #simonJr."

The child is due to be a boy and it will be Cowell's first kid. Silverman, however, has children from a previous marriage.

The X Factor man has been taking part in Britain's Got Talent auditions and recently admitted that he might have to leave quickly to attend the birth.
