Justin Bieber DUI trial to take place in May

Justin Bieber's upcoming DUI trial will be heard in May after it was delayed.

As previously reported, the 20-year-old Canadian was arrested in Miami earlier this year and charged on suspicion of DUI, driving without a valid licence and resisting arrest.

The case was originally due to go to a trial on March 11, but it was postponed because media had requested access to video footage from Bieber's arrest.

This has now been dealt with and the trial has been scheduled for May 5.

Bieber will plead not guilty and his attorney Roy Black commented: "All we're going to say is, we're going to prepare for a trial and that Mr. Bieber has pleaded not guilty."

The singer was originally found by police allegedly drag racing near Miami beach.
