Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw backs Metallica Glastonbury slot: 'You'll love it'

Nick Grimshaw has supported the Glastonbury Festival's decision to have Metallica as one of their headliners.

The rock titans are due to play the Saturday (June 28) of the Worthy Farm event, but some have questioned if their sound will go down well among the festival's crowd.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show host said that he thinks even non-metal fans will "love" the set.

When asked if he is going to go into the mosh pit at the gig, Grimshaw said: "D'you know what? I actually am. My brother loves them. I think they were my brother's first gig, so he always used to listen to them. "It's one of those things, like, Black Sabbath, I know four of their songs, and I went to see them at Download for two and a half hours and it was the best thing I've ever seen.

"You don't really need to know [their music]. When it's a band like Metallica and they've got to that stage of touring forever, there must be a reason why they're that big a rock band and headlining. Even if you don't know you're a fan, you'll go and watch and be like, 'Wow, I love this'."
