Harry Styles and Katy Perry among music stars to pay tribute to Robin Williams after death

The likes of Harry Styles and Katy Perry have paid tribute to Robin Williams after he was found dead.

The 63-year-old comic legend died on Monday (August 11) in a suspected suicide.

The actor - who appeared in films such as Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting - had been "battling severe depression", a rep said.

The entertainment world has been left in shock and a number of music stars have taken to Twitter to express their sadness.

Harry Styles wrote: "One of my all time favourites. Movies I grew up watching over and over again. A genius that will be so missed. R.I.P. Robin Williams."

Katy Perry said: "So sad about Robin Williams..."

Miley Cyrus commented: "I can't take the Robin Williams news. I've never cried over someone I've never met but I can't stop."

Taylor Swift wrote: "Heartbroken for Robin Williams and his family."

Cher meanwhile said online: "I was with him a little while ago we pretended to see Sharknados! Have known him Long X. Saw him open 4 Martin Mull once, Pre Mork & Mindy."
