X Factor's Jack Walton praises Louis Tomlinson advice

X Factor star Jack Walton has spoken out in praise of Louis Tomlinson's mentoring.

The singer left the TV talent show at the weekend and he has opened up on his experience to the Metro.

In a blog, the young star admitted that he was left intimidated by coach Mel B and instead found One Direction man Louis Tomlinson - who appeared on the X Factor in 2010 - more inspiring.

Walton said: "Mel means well with what she says. She sometimes comes across in a way you don’t really get because she’s Scary Spice. That’s quite intimidating sometimes but once you get used to her she is really easy to get on with. She is lovely.

"But it was hard to stand up to her. I mean it’s Mel B from the Spice girls, and then there’s me, Jack from Castleford who hasn’t done much apart from being on the show. So I was like ‘well whatever you say must be right because you’re successful and I’m not'."

He added: "Louis Tomlinson has supported me though. For some reason he just took to me and he’s on the same wavelength as me musically. He just sort of knows how I want to come across and I think that’s why we get on.

"I heard he’s not happy with Mel. I wish I’d listened to him a bit more. What he says about performing and stuff is just so on point. It’s really good. I think that’s why he comes down to the show a lot. He’s really good at giving advice.

"I’ve been to Louis’ house a couple of times. We watch Family Guy, eat pizza, talk about X Factor , talk about music. I really just learn a lot, I try and learn a lot from him."
