Band Aid 30 single no longer favourite for Christmas No.1

The new Band Aid single has seen its odds on becoming this year's Christmas No.1 drop.

The charity project recently unveiled its latest version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' to raise funds for the battle against Ebola.

Bob Geldof drafted in the likes of One Direction, Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin for the recording.

Its digital version topped the UK singles chart for two weeks before being usurped by Take That's 'These Days' on Sunday (November 30).

Bookmaker William Hill have today (December 1) revealed that they are no longer placing the Band Aid tune as the favourite for the Christmas No.1 single.

It now has 9/4 odds, with the X Factor winner's single the top choice at 1/3.

However, the Band Aid single will be unleashed in physical form later this month.

A spokesperson for William Hill commented: "Band Aid 30 has slipped behind Take That but with physical copies hitting the shelves this week it could cling on for a few more weeks."

Other acts in contention include Peace Collective, Iron Maiden and Bruno Mars.
