Rising star James Bay has been named as VEVO's first LIFT Artist of 2015 and he will be the main focus of 8 weeks full of exclusive performances, interviews and exciting behind-the-scenes footage. 

The singer-songwriter, who was just named the recipient of the 2015 BRIT Awards Critics' Choice title, spoke out about being chosen by VEVO and admitted that it's an honour.

He is quoted as saying: "It's a big way to kick off the year being Vevo's LIFT artist of 2015, as I've seen so much of the content from Lorde, John Newman and Sam Smith in previous years. I thought that nothing like this would happen to me."

Earlier this month, meanwhile, Bay was announced as the BBC Sound of 2015 runner-up and he told the broadcasting company that he plans to 'prove his worth' over the next 12 months.
