Marvin Humes: 'When JLS split up, I knew I didn't want to be a singer anymore'

Hitmaker Marvin Humes, of former JLS fame, has revealed that when his group decided to split up he immediately knew he didn't want to be a singer in the music industry anymore.

During an interview with Digital Spy, the star explained that he set up new production group LuvBug with JKAY and The White N3rd because he wanted to stay creative, but in a very different way:

"The main reason is why I initially wanted to start LuvBug is because, when me and the JLS boys were coming to an end, I was doing a lot of DJing in the clubs. I knew that when we split up I wanted to stay in the music industry, but I didn't really want to be a singer anymore. I wanted to make the music I was playing in the clubs."

LuvBug have just released their new single 'Revive' and Humes added that he felt as though JLS got a little complacent towards the end of their career and he's looking forward to the new enthusiasm he has with this project:

"I was saying to Jay the other day, being in JLS obviously you can kind of get complacent when you release the singles and chart positions. You get so used to it. The LuvBug project is a totally fresh thing, it's in a different lane and a new concept. When 'Resonance' came out, I was more nervous than I had ever been before."

"I'll be the same when 'Revive' comes out. It's my new baby and I've got a fire in my belly to succeed in a new project."
