Liza Minnelli is making "excellent progress" in rehab, according to her rep.

The veteran singer and actress is reportedly in a facility in Malibu, California in a battle against substance abuse.

Her rep told The Mirror: "Liza Minnelli has valiantly battled substance abuse over the years and whenever she has needed to seek treatment she has done so.

"She is currently making excellent progress at an undisclosed facility."

Minnelli last entered rehab in 2004.

Her mother Judy Garland died as a result of an overdose in 1969.
