Sheppard's debut album 'Bombs Away' set for UK release next week

Australian indie-pop band Sheppard have enjoyed incredible success over the last 12 months and they're now gearing up to release their debut album, entitled 'Bombs Away, in the UK on Monday, May 25.

The record has 11 tracks and there are three additional bonus songs available, namely 'Hold My Tongue', 'Flying Away' and 'Shine My Way'. This offering kicks off with their well-received single 'Geronimo', which boasts building verses, catchy gang vocals, soaring melodies and an anthemic chorus.

The other songs have a tough act to follow, but they deliver. 'Something's Missing' is a stand-out track with its layered vocals and infectious beat coupled with lyrics that have been injected with the perfect dose of sentiment. 'Best Is Yet To Come' is another cut on the record that really holds its own and again employs the band's signature dream-like harmonies.

'Bombs Away', in its entirety, is a relatable exploration of the human condition wrapped up in conventional pop stylings and decorated with a strong indie flair. While some of the tracks are considerably stronger than others, this record shows incredible promise and the structure of Sheppard's songs along with the band's lyrical prowess and penchant for melodies that demand attention mean that they're asserting their place among their contemporaries.

The band recently picked up the Most Played Australian Work and Pop Work of the Year prizes at the APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) Awards and won the Best Group title at last year's ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards.
