Jess Glynne on vocal injury: 'Sam Smith has been supportive'

Jess Glynne says she received some "great advice" from Sam Smith after undergoing vocal surgery.

The singer revealed in June that she was going under the knife to sort out a problem with her vocal cord.

It was a similar ailment to what Sam Smith endured earlier this year as he battle with a vocal haemorrhage.

Speaking to the Mirror, Glynne said that the 'Stay With Me' star reached out to her when he heard the bad news.

She revealed: "Sam Smith has been amazing and supportive, giving me some great advice.

"He actually put me in contacts with the same doctor he and Adele saw."

Speaking meanwhile about how she felt during her ordeal, Glynne added:

"It was bad timing. I was so, so upset. I had to cancel so many shows and just disappear. It was really hard to deal with.

"Three weeks of no talking was awful. It felt like forever. I had to carry a white-board to write everything down it was horrible. It makes you feel quite depressed.

"You have to drink so much water everyday. I was weeing all the time."
