Music videos given age ratings on YouTube and Vevo in UK

Music videos on YouTube and Vevo can now be given age ratings in the UK on a permanent basis.

The government recently ran a pilot after concerns were raised about the suitability of music videos for young audiences.

British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) are now giving permanent age ratings.

Sony Music, Universal Music and Warner Music will take part in the scheme and by today (August 18) 132 videos had been submitted.

Dizzee Rascal's 'Couple Of Stacks' was the only one deemed suitable for people aged 18 and over.

56 of the videos were rated 12 and 53 were given 15 ratings.
