Metallica break Australian ticket sales records
Metal veterans Metallica have broken the record in Australia for ticket sales.
Following an incredible 20-date tour down under, the hard rockers have outdone the ticket sales record at Sydney’s Acer arena after they sold 74,244 seats over 4 sell out gigs in September and November.
Michael Coppel, promoter for the band’s Australasian leg of their World Magnetic Tour, said:
“It's a fantastic tribute to Metallica, as they approach 25 years since their first Australian tour, that they enjoy such an incredible level of support,"
The last artist to set the record in Sydney was Britney Spears when she sold 66,247 tickets during her 2009 Circus tour.
