Noel Gallagher admits he's more relaxed as a solo artist

Noel Gallagher has admitted that he feels far more relaxed as a solo artist than he ever did during his time in Oasis.

The 44-year-old, who now performs with his own band under the guise of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, told Rolling Stone that gigs were a lot more stressful when he was in the Manchester quintet:

"With Oasis, you didn't really know if the gig was going to take place until we went on. You would sit around and think, 'well somebody's gonna have a fucking problem sooner or later so are we actually gonna do it?'"

However, speaking ahead of yesterday’s appearance at the Coachella Festival, the guitarist revealed that he now feels ‘strangely relaxed’ when it comes to live shows.

The ‘AKA…What A Life’ singer, who last month claimed that no band would ever be bigger than Oasis, also confirmed that he’s writing new material whilst on tour:

"Once you've fucking been through the drug thing, and the girls and the booze and all that, what do you fucking do on the road. There're only so many club sandwiches you can eat.”

However, Gallagher claims that he can’t give a time frame as to when the songs will actually be recorded, adding: “My wife will decide when she's sick of me and she'll usher me out into the fucking cold and then I'll go into the studio."
