'Call Me Maybe' hitmaker Carly Rae Jepsen has spoken about the achievements she has earned this year and admitted that they came as a result of passion and dedication.

She won Best New Artist at the 2012 American Music Awards recently and will also collect the Rising Star prize at this year's Billboard Women In Music event, and told Billboard that she's put her everything into making sure her career succeeds so it's great to see a return:

"I feel like it's been kind of stars aligning with a lot of luck."

"It's been a lot of hard work, and I feel like a lot of it is owed to the fans, who've really spread the song ['Call Me Maybe'] by kind of remaking it and pushing it. It's been something to see."

She will be given her Billboard award at a star-studded ceremony in New York City on November 30.
