Rihanna and Mumford & Sons to headline T in the Park 2013

Rihanna and Mumford & Sons have been confirmed to headline next year's T in the Park.

The Scottish festival is enjoying its 20th anniversary in 2013 and they have today (December 4) announced the first batch of acts due to play the popular shindig.

The weekend, which is taking place over July 12-14, will also see The Script, Paloma Faith and Mercury Prize winners alt-J take to the stage.

Completing the first line-up release are rising star Jake Bugg and Of Monsters and Men.

Speaking about the 2013 line-up, promoter Geoff Ellis said: "Seems like only yesterday that the first band took to the stage at Strathclyde Park for our inaugural T in the Park in 94, now here we are in 2012 announcing two of the of the world's biggest and best acts to headline our 20th edition. We have always worked incredibly hard to bring our T in the Park fans the best line-up possible, and this year is no exception. We are unbelievably excited that Mumford & Sons and Rihanna will be taking to the Main Stage in Kinross as we are sure our audience will be. We have many more fantastic acts in store for everyone and will announce these next year, but it's shaping up to be one hell of celebration."

Last year's T in the Park was headlined by Snow Patrol, The Stone Roses and Kasabian.

Tickets for the 2013 festival will go on sale on December 7 at 9am UK time.
