Whitney Houston's brother: 'I feel responsible for introducing Whitney to drugs'

The brother of the late Whitney Houston has confessed that he feels to blame for her drug problem.

Michael recently appeared on Oprah’s Next Chapter and opened up about how he was partly responsible for introducing the singer to drugs when they were in their 20s and started to become wealthy:

"You've got to understand, at the time, the 80s, it was acceptable. We were in our 20s, we were young, on the road, we had money.”

He continued: “It’s painful. I feel responsible for what I let go so far. She would always tell me, ‘Don’t ever let anyone make you feel any way. I’m a grown woman, and I’m gonna (sic) do what I want.'"

Houston died on February 11, 2012 after her body was found submerged in water at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California. Her mother, Cissy, spoke out about her daughter's death to People magazine and questioned her own parenting skills:

"Was I a good mother? I still wonder if I could have saved her somehow. But there's no book written on how to be a parent. You do the best you can."
