The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney has come under fire from Justin Bieber fans after making a joke about his 2013 Grammy snub.

As previously reported, the sticksman was quoted as saying that the 'Believe' singer should have been happy about not receiving a Grammy nomination because he has lots of money.

Bieber replied to Carney - who won four Grammys when the ceremony took place on Sunday (February 10) - by tweeting that he should be "slapped" around.

The whole episode has seemingly provoked the ire of Bieber fans, who have been tweeting the drummer in their droves.

One Twitter user said "i really wanna kill u @patrickcarney, NOW..!!", to which the Black Keys man replied: "Like right now?"

Another Bieber fan meanwhile said: "Please, kill ur self :)."

Perhaps most hurtful of all, one account tweeted the drummer: "You're ugly."
