The likes of Emeli Sandé and Olly Murs are up for this year's Ivor Novello awards.

The ceremony, which honours British songwriting, is due to take place in London on May 16.

Sandé's track 'Next To Me' has been nominated in the Best Song Musically and Lyrically category, as well as the PRS for Music Most Performed Work section.

She will battle it out with Olly Murs and Coldplay in the latter category, whilst Bat For Lashes and Jake Bugg are also nominated for the Best Song gong.

Mercury Prize winners Alt-J meanwhile have been shortlisted for the Best Contemporary Song and Album Award prizes.
