Two Door Cinema Club’s latest video banned

Two Door Cinema club have had their new video ‘Handshake’ banned by MTV.

The promo for Two Door Cinema Club’s upcoming single ‘Handshake’ made its television debut on MTV on April 23 but was quickly removed from the channel’s broadcasting playlist. The video shows the Northern Irish three piece being decapitated and their still live heads then being used as bowling balls.

Despite the ban by music giant MTV, the video has proven popular online with ‘Handshake’ having accumulated 200,000 views.

News of the exclusion of their video from television airplay did not disappoint the band however as bassist Kevin Baird commented: “[It’s] great. We’ve never had anything banned before.”

‘Handshake’ will be released on June 3 and is taken from Two Door Cinema Club’s sophomore album ‘Beacon.’
