Daft Punk deny tour rumours

Daft Punk have poured cold water over speculation that they will tour soon.

The French dance duo are releasing new album 'Random Access Memories' in the UK on May 20 and it has been suggested that they might embark on a tour to promote the record.

It will be their first album since 2005's 'Human After All' and optimistic fans had been hoping to see the act live.

However, Thomas Bangalter told the Daily Star that they are not planning on heading out on the road - just yet. He said about touring:

"Not right now. We really want to put the focus on the record and not send mixed messages."

Manager Paul Hahn meanwhile added: "My mom asks me every day if we're going on tour. Everybody does. We have been very inspired to do something in the live performance space, but for us right now we're very concentrated on the launch and getting this music out to people in a way that's positive."

'Random Access Memories' meanwhile has been named by Amazon UK as their bestselling dance pre-order ever, despite the record being made available to stream on iTunes.
