John Newman set for first UK No.1 solo single with 'Love Me Again'

Singer John Newman is currently on course for his first solo No.1 single after his new song, 'Love Me Again', debuted at the top during today's midweek chart update.

The rising star, who enjoyed a collaborative No.1 last summer with Rudimental on 'Feel The Love', has sold over 70,000 copies of the track so far and the Official Charts Company explained that he's likely to pass the 100,000 sales mark by the end of the week.

Icona Pop's 'I Love It' has now dropped to No.2, The Saturdays have made an appearance at No.8 with 'Gentleman', and Chase & Status have risen 6 spots to No.9 this afternoon (July 3) following their lively set at Glastonbury festival.

Elsewhere in the UK Top 40, Ke$ha's 'Crazy Kids' has climbed 3 places to No.32, 'Radioactive' by Imagine Dragons has fallen 6 positions to No.35, and Jake Bugg's 'Broken' has debuted at 38. Meanwhile, John Newman is due to perform at The Lexington in London later this month on July 11 and has also confirmed a headlining tour that will kick off on October 28 in Glasgow.
