Daily Mail journalist responds to Rihanna's attack on her 'poisonous pop princess' article

At the end of last month, columnist Liz Jones wrote an article about Rihanna for Britain's Daily Mail newspaper in which she labelled her a "poisonous pop princess" and a "toxic role model".

The Bajan beauty read the piece and responded by posting a message to her Instagram account, slamming her for the defamatory piece: "If you sincerely wanna help little girls more than their own parents do, here's a toxic tip: don't be amateur with your articles, you sound bitter! What's all this about hair and nails and costumes and tattoos?? ....That s**t ain't clever!!! That s**t ain't journalism! That's a sad sloppy menopausal mess!!!"

Jones has now addressed Rihanna's attack on her as both a writer and woman and told London's Metro newspaper that you should never forgive a man who beats you, referring to the 'Umbrella' beauty's on-off relationship with Chris Brown:

"If a man beats you up, you should never talk to him again, you shouldn't forgive him and shouldn't write songs to him. There's more that comes with fame than money, there comes responsibility."

"It's ridiculous for her to say she isn't a role model because young women look up to her, they want to be her and do the things she does. She's got so much going for her - she has an amazing voice, is very beautiful, has a strong powerful body - I don't understand why she has to bring these other elements into it."
